- Abstract
- The digital humanities is a complex and dynamic ecosystem of interactions between changing scholarly priorities, technological advances, and the broader social, cultural and economic contexts. This working paper provides an extended summary of a foresight study into how digital research methods, technologies and infrastructures in digital humanities and cultural heritage may develop over the next 5-10 years, based on the results of a series interviews, workshops, survey results, and a review of the literature. Recommendations for interventions to optimize future development in the field include public engagement, research infrastructures, development of the digital commons, artificial intelligence, impact and evaluation.
