Abstract
Now in its second year, nestor, the Network of Expertise in Long-Term Storage of Digital Resources, has already become a central source of information and communication in the area of digital long-term preservation. In offering a bilingual (German and English) internet portal as a platform for providing information and enabling discussion and also providing expert opinions on selected topics dealing with long-term storage and by implementing working committees (such as on,Certification of Trusted Repositories", Multlmeclia Archival Storage", "Collection Policy Criteria and Guidelines" and "Research and Raw Data") nestor fulfils its mandate as an intermediary between those who have already achieved a certain professional level of practical application and those who are still acquiring knowledge and skills in this area.
