- Abstract
- In this research paper, we present lessons learned about using smart glasses, smartwatches and other wearable computer systems in enterprises. In particular, we focus on aggregated results from one qualitative interview study and three design science research studies. We conducted the design and practice-oriented studies between 2015 and 2017 in order to support business processes using wearable computer systems. Furthermore, we also include practical insights from one workshop series as part of a case study project in a large-scale industrial company. By aggregating the results of those five studies, we are able to present in-depth findings that affect the adoption and diffusion of wearable computers in enterprises. In addition to the presented lessons learned, we propose future research directions, which outline currently unsolved issues and proposals for further research studies. Based on this methodology, we are able to present relevant results for both, researchers and practitioners.
