- Abstract
- The reaction of trimethylaluminum with a salen {salenH(2) = [N,N-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine]} ligand in toluene afforded the complex [Me2AlOC6H4CH=NCH2-](n). It shows a one-dimensional structure in the crystal state with pentacoordinate aluminum. This complex was characterized by H-1 and C-13 NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, single-crystal X-ray structure, and elemental analysis.
