Abstract
The ionic complex [Ga{N(SP'Pr(2))(SeP'Pr(2))-S, Se}(2)](+)[GaCl(4)](-) (5) was prepared by a ligand redistribution process from the monochelate Cl(2)Ga{N(SP'Pr(2))(SeP'Pr(2))-S,Se}] (3) complex in benzene. A similar phenomenon was observed for the heavier indium homologues, where the neutral complexes [ClIn{N(SP'Pr(2))(SeP'Pr(2))-S, Se}(2)] (7) and [ClIn{N(OP'Pr(2))(SP'Pr(2))-O, S}(2)] (8) were isolated along with InCl(3) as the main reaction by-product.
