Das VD 18: eine Einladung ins 18. Jahrhundert

Abstract

Der vorliegende Beitrag informiert ber das geplante Vorhaben VD 18 (Verzeichnis der im deutschen Sprachraum erschienenen Drucke des 18. Jahrhunderts), seine Vorgeschichte und die vorgesehene Struktur des Projekts. Im Unterschied zu gleichermaen bezeichneten Projekten fr frhere Jahrhunderte wird das VD 18 die Volltext-Digitalisierung aller verzeichneten Drucke bieten. Fr den deutschen Sprachraum wird das VD 18 damit die digitale Bibliothek des 18. Jahrhunderts.

The present article outlines VD 18 (Bibliography of books published in German-speaking countries in the 18th century), its background as well the intended project structure. In contrast to similarly named projects on earlier centuries, VD 18 will provide complete digitization of all items covered by the bibliography. As for German speaking countries VD 18 will provide the digital library of the 18th century.
