- Abstract
- In the new order Belemnoteuthida Belemnoteuthis mayri n. sp. has a "Belemnoteuthis" -like guard and a proostraeum that eonsists of two lateral fields ("Seitenfelder") enclosing the weakly ealcified median field ("Mittelfeld"). Within the same order, Acanthoteuthis speciosa MÜNSTER is reeognized as an independent taxon. The complete specimen of Hibolithes hastatus MONTF., figured by QUENSTEDT (1867, 1885) is refigured (Fig. 11 a, b).
