Abstract
This protocol provides the general steps for magnetic twisting cytometry (MTC). MTC is an active microrheology method well-suited to measuring the mechanical properties of the individual adherent cells. Specialized equipment is required for producing the magnetic fields used in this technique. Specific cells, reagents, and experimental times and temperatures will depend on the objectives of the investigator.
