Abstract
As using the Internet with mobile end devices like PDA or Smartphones gets more and more common, enterprises verify whether they can use this technology to gain competitive advantages. This work evaluates existing mobile applications for businesses, their technical construction and economic benefits for software producer and customer. Therefore, technologies of the mobile Internet and characteristics of the business-to-business market are assessed. Afterwards the potentials, benefits and implications of the use of mobile Internet are considered and six mobile applications from all sections of the value chain are examined: ranging from mobile procurement to mobile facility management and mobile customer relationship management.
