Abstract
Treatment of (MeC5H4)(2)ZrCl2 with K (Na) or NaNH2 in liquid ammonia/toluene at -78degreesC led to the pentanuclear zirconium cluster [{(MeC5H4)Zr}(5)(mu(5) - N)(mu(3) - NH)(4)(mu - NH2)(4)] (1) and the alkali metal aggregate [(MeC5H4)M](n) (M = K (2) or Na). Reaction of Cp-2 TiCl with NaNH2 in liquid ammonia/toluene at -78degreesC yielded Cp-2 TiNH2 (3).
